GES201 Antwerpen Metro

After a pleasant evening with the local chaps, swigging dangerously high alcohol beers, traversing amazing drains. The locals weren't finished in showing their generosity and list of locations. We ended up at a rather odd looking low concrete structure. After waiting for a quiet moment, we all bundled into the structure, and descended a fair old way before hitting a ventilation room. A door was opened, and we were presented with some lovely steel track. The lights were on, and coupled with the late hour, we could assume service was over.

We started off for the station, chatting and keeping a careful eye out at the same time. As we got closer to the station, the chatting tone lowered, and we walked carefully onwards. Our ears listening for any human presence ahead of us.

The dreadful tagging was present just outside the station, but not inside the station. An early warning sign that entering the station after hours would be dodgy. We also wondered why there was a portable barrier with a warning lamp. It looked to me like there were workers in the area, but the others weren't so sure.

A camera above my head in this shot, stopped us from going any further, while we discussed the likelihood of being caught if someone was watching them. Our mind was quickly made up, as GE079 looked carefully at the photo he'd just taken, and pointed out there were some orange attired workers ahead of us. Eek! So we turned on our heels and legged it. I don't think we were spotted.

The ladder to the surface seemed to take for ever, and was killing my arms. However, finally, we all popped back into the 'normal world' save and sound.

Huge thanks the local chaps, GE021, GE022 and GE023.
