Just when you think you know about all the myriad of pipes and tunnels going under the Thames, another explorer finds one and highlights it. This tunnel just West of London is a gas tunnel. Due to wars and possible malicious activity, Gas pipes were put out of public view, basically, buried.

A small brick building on the South bank of the Thames provided the starting point, an old sign hanging on the wall.

A set of stairs lead down next to the gas main pipe. It was only a three storey descent.

The tunnel was waterlogged at one end, this is looking from the tunnel to the Southern shaft to the surface just descended.

The tunnel wasn't very long, about 60-80m. This shot looks along the length.

The northern shaft had ladders instead of stairs, so required a little more effort. Ojay's feet seen at the top.
