Waterloo Bridge sits at the top of a curve (or apex) in the Thames, that provides a great 180-degree view of the South Bank. So getting an opportunity to snap and admire it is always welcome. Some new recruits to the London scene had made a move on it, and this caught my eye. So Kev and I sat waiting patiently for a shop owner to go inside, or a customer to turn up. Thankfully after 20mins a customer showed up, and we went through the open door in the scaff, and quickly went up the well-lit up scaff stairs. At the top Kev nearly walked into a cctv camera under some stairs to the next section or roof, but other than that it was plain sailing all the way. So pleasant and nice to be left to our own devices up there.
A fisheye lens is one's weapon of choice up here, and it makes a great single-shot panoramic. The small figure on the edge of the building near the London Eye is Kev.

To the East one sees the monolithic white block that is Somerset House. I once worked there for a day, it was a full-time job. After realising how dull it was, and that I'd have to work in an office next to a chain smoker, I quit by 4 pm.

West down to the Eye, on the hard right, is the flag flying on the roof of the Savoy, the other roof I've been to in the area.

Heading back down to the lower roof, it was possible to see a nice light trail location, so set up the camera to capture the Strand/Lancaster Place/Aldwych junction. A crane sits over a new hotel being built opposite, at the slowest rate ever. It was started before the Shard across the river and is still not finished, whereas the Shard isn't far off being finished.

There wasn't much else to see, so we nipped down and went off to check another reccie.
