On arriving in the city of Zrenjanin, we had hoped to find some decent industrial dereliction, pictures of a sugar factory had enticed me here. However, after driving around, it certainly wasn't obvious. A large old factory seemed to take up a large portion of a few blocks not too far from the centre of town. We parked up nearby and went to check it out. Initial signs were of a rather unexciting explore. So Le Marc went back to the car. With school kids walking about and neighbours in and out of cars, I had to wait for the perfect moment, then popped over a wall. Not very dramatic, but then does it have to be?
It wasn't until I walked around the front after running around inside I realised it's purpose. Being somewhat obvious from the sign over the gate.

As far as the actual site, it had one long factory building and a L shape of low buildings. And then some tall buildings in one corner. Built with cheap grey concrete, it wasn't a looker on the Derp scene.

The other side of the wall led under a canopy with the usual detritus one expects while wandering around industrial sites. Old barrels of undetermined content, twisted pieces of metal, and pools of dark liquids.

The main factory floor was covered in fine dust, and lit through smashed windows. Old pieces of sturdy, chunky equipment and lathes.

This area would have dealt with the molten metal and poured into moulds for the radiators and fittings. The openings on the left are for furnaces.

Not one of the greatest explores ever, but an insight into Serbian manufacturing. Next stop Novi Sad.
